About Henna
Henna is a natural dye made from the leaves of the plant Lawsonia inermis, which grows in Africs, the Middle
East, and India.
To make henna:
The Leaves are dried and ground into a fine powder.
This powder is then mixed with lemon juice or water, sugar, and an essenrial oil (such as eucalyptus or
tea tree oil) to create a smooth paste.
Once the Paste is Ready:
It is put into a cellophane cone or applicator bottle.
The paste is piped onto the surface of the skin in intricate patterns, often for decorative body art,
especially during festivals, weddings, and celebrations.
The paste is left on the skin for several hoursto stain it. Once removed, it leaves behind a
Reddish-Brown-Design that can last for 1-2 weeks.
